Finding forever homes is what Big Sky CARES is all about! We have a wide range of adorable pets ready to join your family. Ready to adopt? Here’s how it works:

Visit our facility in Folsom or scroll through the online list of available pets;

Look around to find one (or more) who seem like a good match;

Complete the online Adoption Application;

Have a chat with one of our staff members or volunteers;

If you haven’t already, visit us in Folsom to meet your new (potential) best friend;

If all goes well, sign an Adoption Agreement and pay the adoption fee;

Take your new family member home!

Adopting a pet requires a commitment of time, attention, and finances. We're happy to help you find a new pet, but ask that you consider carefully before making an application.

Experience has shown us that good relationships lead to successful adoptions. Communication and support work together to make connections that last. Our goal is to make a lifetime match between you and your new pet!

No matter how carefully we try, we know that some matches don't work. You can contact us at any time with questions or concerns, large or small, and we’re always able to take a pet back if things don’t work out.

Seniors for Seniors adopters pay a reduced adoption fee.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and ready to go home!
